glaze - the grey combo

€25.00

To achieve the effect pictured apply the 2 layers of 2 different glazes one-after-another.

Price per 0.5kg matte black glaze

and/or

0.5kg matte white glaze

Both glazes work perfectly well by themselves too.

Food-safe, lead-free and cadmium-free.

I applied with a brush you will achieve varied surface effect.

Recommended for high-fired stoneware.

!!! For best results we recommend firing range 1240-1260 C

pictures 1-5 - white on top of the black (applied within 1 minute interval in-between)

picture 6 & 7 - the white matte glaze on its own- on grey stoneware and one speckled white stoneware

picture 8 - the matte black glaze on its own on grey stoneware.

Sold in powder form only.

Mixing guidelines: Add water proportionally 1:1 to begin with, after sieving adjust with little extra water as needed to achieve the desired thickness. Generally 500g (1.1 lb) of glaze makes about 800ml (27oz) of liquid glaze.

Add water, put through a sieve and good to go. YOU MUST MIX THE WHOLE dry mix into water (as we mix glaze by hand it is not uniform yet, if you take just half in water the ingredients will not be even!)

Thickness of application and time-in-between matters. We reccomend to make both glazes a little thinner than usual- apply the black glaze first, wait for 1-2min max, then apply the white layer. The thicker the white layer will be the more light blue grey the finish will become. To get dark grey, ranging to brownish grey- make the white layer extra thin.

Some pinholing may be present- smooth the glaze with fingers after it has fully dried.

*WARNING!

Do not ingest.

Use gloves when mixing and applying product. Keep away from eyes. If product gets into eyes rinse thoroughly with water. Avoid dust and dry glaze build up from evaporation of solution. Wash with a wet cloth only and do not sweep or dust off. Ensure adequate ventilation during firing.
